Colts Defeat Dolphins, 23-10

MIAMI. Aug. 30 (AP) John Unitas shook off a schoolboy mistake tonight and drove the Baltimore Colts to two touchdowns that carried them to a 23-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins in a preseason game.

The 36-year-old star erred on Baltimore's first series and it put the National Football League champions in a 7-0 hole. His quick, standup pass to Willie Richardson was picked off by Jimmy Warren at the Colts' 17 and he raced to a touchdown.

After Jim Duncan returned the kickoff 54 yards to the Miami 44, Unitas hit John Mackey at the Miami 11 on a third-and-eight situation. Then blooped one to Jimmy Orr from eight yards for the tying score.

In the second quarter, Unitas guided the Colt machine 98 yards for another touchdown. Preston Pearson finished the long march by skirting right end for the final seven yards.
