DENVER ERRS; VIKINGS GET VICTORY, 39-16

DENVER, Colo. (AP)- Minnesota ran up 27 points in the first 17 minutes, mostly on Denver errors, toreap sweet revenge with a 39-16 exhibition football victory over the Broncos Saturday night.

The National Football League Vikings, avenging a loss to the American Football League Broncos last season, cashed in two Denver fumbles and a pass interception in the early spurt that left Denver trailing 27-3 after two minutes of the second quarter.

Viking Paul Krause ran back a stolen Steve Tensi pass 29 yards in the big play of Minnesota's quick getaway. Two fumbles by Denver's Floyd Little, one on his 27 and the other on his one, were turned into a 25-yard field goal by Minnesota's Fred Cox and a one-yard touchdown plunge by Bill Brown.

Charlie West's 58-yard punt return to Denver's 17 opened the way for Gary Cuozzo's TD pass to Tom Hall on the next play.

Little had a 63-yard punt return for a Denver touchdown that closed the Viking lead to 27-9 with 3:20 left in the half.

On the ensuing kickoff, Viking quarterback Bob Berry took his team on an 80-yard march in 12 plays for a touchdown that made it 33-9. The payoff was a five-yard TD pitch to Brown.

The Vikings lost last year 14-9 to Denver.
