KANSAS CITY (AP) Kansas City defensive tackle Curly Culp intercepted a pass and rumbled six yards to a deciding touchdown Saturday night as the Chiefs edged the stubborn Atlanta Falcons, 14-10, for a clean sweep of their 6-game exhibition season.

The American League Chiefs, who have won four games from National League teams, had the fight of their lives and didn’t put the game away until Bobby Bell intercepted a pass by the Falcons' Bruce Lemmerman with less than four minutes to play.

After a scoreless first quarter in which Atlanta blunted the vaunted Kansas City running attack, Quarterback Len Dawson got his passing game going in the second on a pass the fullback Wendall Hayes. The big gainer was a 37 yard pass from Dawson to Otis Taylor. Jan Stenerud’s conversion gave the Chiefs a 7-0 halftime lead.

Atlanta used a fumble recovery by Nate Wright at the Kansas City 7 yard stripe to set up its touchdown in the third period. Three plays later, Lemmerman passed 14 yards to Rick Eber who made a leaping catch in the endzone for the touchdown. Bobby Etter kicked the extra point.

Atlanta scored again in the final period on a 33 yard field goal by Etter.
