Steve Fuller

Kansas City Chiefs

Steve Fuller attended Clemson University and was selected 23rd overall in the NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1979. By the season's fourth game after a 1-2 start, Fuller had replaced Mike Livingston as the club's starter. With Fuller at the helm, the Chiefs won three in a row, but a five-game midseason losing stretch sullied that effort. Despite finishing fifth in the AFC West for a second straight season, Kansas City's 7-9 record was considered a great accomplishment.

In 1983, with Bill Kenney and Todd Blackledge both on the roster, Fuller was traded to the L.A. Rams on August 19th. In 1984, he landed in Chicago where he played backup to Jim McMahon on the 1985 Super Bowl championship team. Fuller retired following the 1986 season. In his career, Fuller completed 57% of his passes for 7156 yards.
