Tom Ramsey finished 7th in Heisman voting in 1982 and led nation in passer rating. He guided UCLA to a 24-14 win over Michigan in the 1983 Rose Bowl. Drafted in 1983 in round 10 by the New England Patriots, Ramsey chose to remain in Southern California, signing with the Los Angeles Express. He had been drafted in the second round of the USFL draft by the Los Angeles Express. Ramsey was traded to the Oakland Invaders in his second year in the league and led the Invaders to wins in the last seven of nine games. Ramsey signed with the Patriots for the 1985 season. He spent 1986 trough 1988 with the Patriots then a year with the Indianapolis Colts.
